For the longest time, I have wanted a Mac laptop. Well, to some people it may not seem like the longest time, but when I want something, I want it NOW (case and point...the dog). Anyways, during the Christmas holidays, I spent some time with my uncle's Mac and I fell in love with iDVD and iMovie. The movies/slideshows that you can create are absolutely incredible. I was ready to go out and buy one on Boxing Day, but my uncle told me to wait until after Mac's worldwide convention/tradeshow because they would be releasing the newest "it" item. So, during the past few weeks I had researched the pros and cons of each. In a surprising turn of events, I actually had a decent experience at Futureshop and the sales guy was well-informed and didn't push either machine onto us (although he did talk way too much and couldn't read our body language that we wanted time alone to discuss it). After much deliberation, I decided to stick with PC. On a side note, I don't understand why they are called PCs and not Windows or Microsoft...doesn't PC stand for "personal computer" and isn't a Mac a personal computer as well? But that's a small point to digress.
Without going over all the details of my decision, basically it came down to the fact that I didn't want to spend X amount of dollars on a Mac and end up being totally frustrated with it because I can't operate it as well as I can a PC. So here I sit at the dining room table with my laptop, where I can blog and surf while I watch the world outside (instead of being stuck in the basement, right next to the cat shitter). I bought a decent DVD-creating program so now I can start working on Brady and Kristan's wedding slideshow and post-wedding DVD.
I'll leave you with an amusing clip I found on YouTube (and I'll be honest...it did help in my decision-making!).
