I Think I'm Ready

I have prepared myself for tomorrow morning as though I were going into some sort of battle. I have never organized like this before. Since Mike leaves for work before me, I have to get Joel dressed, fed and into his chair so my dad can come over at 8:00am and just push him onto the bus. As I type, Joel's lunch is packed and in the fridge, with Friday's lunch sitting next to it. His medicine is dosed and waiting in his bib. His breakfast is waiting on the counter, ready with a spoon. His clothes are laid out on his bed in the order we put them on. I stopped short of putting the toothpaste on his toothbrush.

The first item for my breakfast is in its bowl (a package of oatmeal), ready to be mixed with the vanilla protein powder that is already measured out (1 scoop = 23 g of yummy protein goodness!). The second part of my breakfast (toast with peanut butter and a sprinkle of brown sugar) is lined up on the opposite counter. My travel mug has its cream and sugar already measured into it, so all it needs is coffee. My work accessories are lined up on the dresser in the bedroom: hand sanitizer, red pen, blue pen, work ID, gum, mints, a small tube of lotion, a hair elastic and two bobby pins (thank god for cargo pants!).

My alarm clock is set to go off at 5:30am and 6:00am. I have already showered and I blow dried and straightened my hair. On a side note, I haven't worn my hair down in the past four months and holy canolli is it ever long! I have prepared and organized everything to the point where I could roll out of bed at 7:30 and be out the door five minutes later. I'm actually a little surprised that I haven't pre-cooked tomorrow night's supper as well.

I am so excited for tomorrow. And I am happy that Mike is going to be there as well. It will be nice to be able to pop in and see him at lunch, before I head home and enjoy my left over Spicy Peppercorn chicken cold rolls and special vermicelli. And now it's time for bed - four hours earlier than what I'm used to!
