My Mistake

I jumped the gun little early with the previous post. There are actually two things worse than being sick and having your pubic bone constantly popping:

1) coughing so much that your ribs get sore so you reach the point that with each cough, your pubic bone and your back pop, plus your ribs feel like they're being stepped on

2) having zero appetite in the last three days so that you develop a mild enough case of diarrhea so when the the above coughing gets a little too rough, you can actually and literally shit yourself.

Maybe I should wait until Thursday to post this...perhaps I'll be vomiting all over myself by then and this whole "I-just-shit-my-own-pants" thing won't seem so bad.

  1. Sounds like a cough I had when I was pregnant with Palmer. I went to a doc after 2 weeks of suffering because I couldn't take it anymore - my ribs felt like I'd broken them.

Apparently he figured I had bruised them and you know what? When it's detrimental to your ability to take good care of yourself and baby doctor's suddenly are upfront about the fact that it won't kill you or baby to take a prescription if it puts you on the mend.

I was perscribed a cough medicine with a minimal amount of codeine so that I could get some relief from the cough. I felt better in no time and there was no effects to Palmer.

Hoping that you feel better soon.

  2. It's interesting that you mention the codeine, because my doc was going to prescribe something with codeine but then opted against it. I'm thinking he forgot that he had previously prescribed me tylenol 3s for my gallstone attacks. I'm guessing that cough syrup would probably have less codeine than T3s though?

I am on the mend today...ribs are still sore, but not as bad as yesterday!
