I love Kijiji. I check the baby section everyday, just waiting to pounce on a good deal. A few weeks ago, I scooped a Bumbo chair for $40. Today, I scored big time. A woman was selling off a schwack load of girls clothes, sizes 0-24. Each item was 50 cents. 50 CENTS PEOPLE!
I grabbed forty bucks and headed over to her house. On the way there, I realized I'd brought enough money for eighty pieces of clothing. I took one of the twenties out of my wallet and set it on the console. There was no way I was going to allow myself to buy that many clothes for Katelyn. I went through the boxes of 6 month, 9 month, and 12 month clothes. I'm not sure what the woman thought of me...I appeared to be inspecting the clothes, but I was doing so at a rapid pace. There were certain clothes that I immediately passed by - anything fleecey, any shirts with the little lapel-type collars and all the sleepers. I also very quickly vetoed a lot of the clothes based on the dirt around the neck line, loose hems or just general crappiness. A lot of the clothes hadn't been taken care of very well. I was the first person who had phoned about the clothes so I knew I was getting the pick of the litter.
I ended up spending only $12.00 but man oh man...some of the clothes I got must have originally been worth twice that amount. There is an a-DOR-UH-ble furry pink vest that looks brand new, plus the sweetest little Strawberry Shortcake romper (with the old, cute Strawberry Shortcake, not the new slutty version - who are the assclowns that okayed the idea to mess around with an 80s icon???).
I'll post pics of the new duds sometime when it's not 1:00 in the morning :-)
