To Cut Or Not To Cut...

...that is the question.
Whether 'tis nobler in the salon
to suffer the snips and cuts of overly priced scissors,
Or to take no action and, by opposing, end the dilemma.
To dye, to cut once more.
And by a cut to say I end the heartache,
and the thousand loose strands I shed each fortnight.

Okay, that's as far as I'm going to take that (on a sidenote, when I was OBSESSED with Keanu Reeves in 1995 and I found out he was performing "Hamlet" in Winnipeg, I memorized the entire "To be or not to be" soliliquy solilaquay big ass long speech).  Back to the point of the post...I get into this "Hair Cycle" where I want to cut my hair off because, when it's long, all I do is wear it in a ponytail/bun. BUT then I cut it short with the self promise that I will actually do my hair every day and I just end up missing my ponytail and start counting down the weeks until I can fit my hair back into a ponytail, even if it's just one of those wee tiny ones and I have to use bobby pins to keep the flyaways in place.

When my hair is long, I very, very rarely do it.  And by "do it", I mean take the 45 minutes I need blow dry it, slap some anti-frizz goo in it and flatten it with my straightening iron.  It has to be a VERY special occasion for me to do my hair.  Like going to see Stuart McLean. I think December of last year was the last time I "did" my hair.

So, as a special treat, I am honored to share with you what I deal with on a daily basis (sidenote: this is not me with my hair done - all I did was pull it out of its standard ponytail/bun).

As you can see, the other reason I rarely wear my hair down is because I look like the lesbian, plus-sized version of the Cowardly Lion.

* Pay no attention to the white flecks all over the photo.  I took the self-pic in the bathroom mirror and did not clean the mirror beforehand.  If you've got a problem with that, I'll fight ya with one paw tied behind my back!

If I only had the courage...

Fluffed, frizzed and ready to hit the Yellow Brick Road
