My parents have four grandchildren. Of those four, only one lives in Canada. Not only does she live in Canada, she's only a couple of blocks away :) When we found out we were pregnant, I was excited (obviously), but not just for myself...I was excited for my parents' sake as well. They only get to see their other grandkids during the summer and it can be tough to find one-on-one time with each of them. So when Mom and Dad phoned me up and asked if they could take Kat for a sled ride, my answer was an automatic, "Hell no!".
I'm kidding, of course. You have no idea how happy it makes me to know that Kat will get a lot of one-on-one with her grandma and grandpa. I can't wait until she's a little bit older and can help Grandpa do work in the yard or go shopping with Grandma. But that's years away because I refuse to allow my baby to grow up :-)
