Rockin' Out In The New Year

Rock Band.  Paralyzers.  And puking.  She was a great New Year's Eve :)

We don't do a heck of a lot for New Year's - we normally keep it pretty quiet and this year wasn't too different.  It was just Mike, Kat, Joel and I and our two friends.  I had a couple of drinks, but it wasn't me that ended up puking :)

For the last year, we've basically lived on one level of our house.  Yes, we have a basement, but it's more or less been turned into a storage facility.  That is, until yesterday afternoon.  Mike and I wanted to get Rock Band for the PS3 going again, so I did some TV swapping between the basement and the upstairs living room.  We had bought a brand new flat screen HD LED LOL OMG TV two years ago, but it crapped out shortly after the warranty ended and we didn't feel like paying $750 to fix it.  I tried to get it going yesterday and I don't know what I did, but she's working again...we just can't hook cable up to it.  So now, in our cozy little basement, we have two TVs set up side-by-side - one for cable and one for PS3.  But my creativity didn't end there.  I took our computer surround sound (complete with sub woofer) and hooked it up to the flatscreen.  There are days I think I was supposed to be a man, what with my technological know-how.

So, last night, we just hung out in the basement - the guys playing PS3 and the girls watching TV.  I came upstairs at about 1:00am to refill my paralyzer and I could faintly here Joel calling from his bed.  I went in to check on him and discovered he was covered in his own puke.  Even though Joel was feeling icky, he still managed to laugh at my mock lecture about the perils of drinking too much on New Year's :)

So, these last few days before I return to the world of the working mom will be spent in our "new" multi-media basement.  And I hear Mike playing the opening chords of "Don't Stop Believin' " - that is my call to  do double duty between the drums and vocals :)

  2. No, Joel wasn't drinking :) We figure he threw up from coughing too much (he sort of chokes when he takes his medicine and then coughs and coughs and coughs).

A paralyzer is Kahlua, vodka, milk and Coke and it is SUPER yummy!

Happy New Year to you as well!
