Flu...Be Gone!

The flu hit our house last week, starting with Miss K.  I was extremely impressed with her puking ability...not because of projection or anything like that.  Simply because there were no tears, no freaking out.  She just leaned over the tub, opened her mouth and threw up.  Over and over and over again. Her throwing up only lasted a day, but the stomach bug found other exits to move on to.

On Saturday morning, Mike woke up and had to make a mad dash to begin what would be a long day of throwing up for him.  As he came back to the bedroom, he could smell puke.  He looked down in the crib and there lay Bubbaloo, face down in puke.  Once Mike's heart started beating again, he reached down and grabbed Bubbaloo, who rolled over and smiled at Mike.  Mr. A had thrown up all over his crib and gone back to sleep.  I am seriously getting that boy tested for narcolepsy.

Since Miss K was feeling alright, we shipped her over to my parents' house. Mike brought A to me at the store.  Bubbaloo continued to throw up while at work with me. Between serving customers and cleaning up puke, I tried to literally clear the air so it didn't smell like barf in the store. After closing, I then went home and took care of my three sickies.

Yesterday, both of my parents' got sick as well.  It was on their way home from church with Miss K that my dad started to feel sick.  When he said he had to stop at Canadian Tire to use their facilities, I asked if he threw up in a public toilet.  His response? "No, not throw up.  But that bathroom will never be the same again".

I thought I was starting to get sick as well.  I had a headache, body aches and minor rumbly tummy.  I napped for a solid five hours (which I NEVER do) and woke up feeling iffy.  As I type, I still have yet to throw up, but I came close last night.  At midnight, I was asleep on the couch when I heard a loud *SPLAT* followed by "Babe!" with another *SPLAT* and even more hurried "Babe!!".  Bubbaloo had puked all over his crib, all over the floor in our bedroom and then a lovely trail of puke all the way down the hallway to the bathroom.  Mike was covered in puke as well.  If ever there was a time I was going to throw up, that should have been it. As Mike bathed Bubbaloo, I cleaned up curdled milky puke.  It basically looked like someone sprayed a four litre of expired milk all over our bedroom and hallway.  Yah...that kinda smell.

I held it together through all of that, but as I sit and type this at 8:00am, my tummy feels a little weak.  I won't get sick.  I can't get sick.  I'm honestly wondering whether the hazelwood bracelet I'm wearing has helped stave off the majority of this flu.  Either way, let's hope I can hold it together today (for there is much work to be done!) and for the rest of the week :)
