My blogging virginity is now lost...

Okay, so my first time as a blogger isn't going so well - I'm realizing very quickly I've got a lot to learn about this world of posting inane thoughts. So, my first post is still sitting in the 'Draft' folder and I don't have time to sit and try and gently coax it over to the "Publish" page so I'm just going to re-type the general idea.

My husband Mike and I have often commented that we should have our own reality show. Why? Because we love our lives and we like to think we're interesting people. We have sharp senses of humour, we are continually finding new and innovative ways to hurt ourselves (luckily not very seriously, but enough that it's not funny) and we do unconventional things. We love to argue but in a respectful way and we argue over the most trivial things (and I don't mean trivial in the it's-your-turn-to-load-the-dishwasher sense - I mean trivial in the that-minivan-is-purple-how-on-earth-can-you-say-it's-brown kind of way). That being said, I don't think VH1 is going to knock on our door any time soon sooooooooo a blog will have to fill that lifelong desire I have to become a Hollywood celebrity.

I want to use this blog to get out all the inane, frustrating, silly (yet sometimes profound) thoughts that go through my head. There are a lot of things lately that just make me go AARRGGHH! and maybe by releasing them onto the world wide web and maybe by having people comment on or possibly share my point of view will be a form of therapy for me.

BTW, the title of my blog comes from the book "Slaughterhouse Five" by Kirk Vonnegut. I read the book while sitting on a bench in a square in the middle of Regensburg, Germany in 1998. I remember thinking I must have looked so crazy because I was all by myself, but I was laughing my head off...seriously, if there hadn't been so much pigeon shit on the ground, I would have been rolling on the ground! Anyways, ever since I read this book, I've signed off the majority of my e-mails and all of my paper journal entries with this phrase...I sometimes insert different adverbs in between "it" and "goes" depending on how I'm feeling. Today, I'm feeling quite merry.

And so it merrily goes...
