In the past eight years, I have had many, many different kinds of dreams. Within those dreams, there are two constants. Now, I don't mean to say that these two things show up in my dreams every night. What I mean is that when they do show up, they never, ever change. The first constant is that whenever Joel is in my dream, he is never in a wheelchair. He is always able to run, walk, skip, jump, hop etc. Mike has said that the same is true in his dreams - Joel is always able to walk. That makes me wonder how Joel appears in his own dreams...would he be in his natural form and unable to walk or can our unconscious minds not comprehend what a disability means? I have tried asking Joel, but some of the time, he likes to answer with what he thinks you want to hear and then he flip-flops his answers and you really have no idea what he's talking about...he's almost a miniature lawyer in training!
The other constant is that whenever I am in trouble and am asking Mike for his help, he never, ever comes to my rescue. The variables change from dream to dream and the reasons why he can't help me also change. It's not like Mike flat out refuses to help me...that's not the case at all. Sometimes he's too far away to hear me yelling to him or maybe the phone gets knocked out of my hand before I can call him. Take last night's dream for example. I was being held hostage by one of my student's, only the hostage taking was happening in a room full of people and Mike was one of those people (only no one had any idea I was being held). As badly as I wanted to ask Mike to help me, I knew I would get hurt if I did. Eventually I was taken back to the student's house and I managed to escape. I was running down the street to get the cell phone from the van to call Mike, but I bumped into the Geico Caveman first. So he saved me from the kidnapper. And he saved me 10% on my car insurance.
And so it constantly goes...
I'd have opted for Progressive... they'll check the rates of their competitors so you don't have to.
