Date Night
Tonight, Mike and I had a date. I won't say we went on a date because we didn't leave the house. But we did have a date. One of our favourite things to do is go to Safeway and pick out whatever munchies we want. Sometimes it's pomegranates or fruit platters with strawberry cream cheese dip. Sometimes it's crackers with garlic sausage and cheese. Tonight, it was potstickers, Bags of Gold (artichokes with cheese...mmmm!) and crackers/meat/cheese. We rented 'Knocked Up', changed into our comfiest outfits (I like look the Easter Bunny right now in my pink flannel pants and pink bunny hug), climbed onto our respective couches and chowed down. When I was younger, I use to think dates had to involve getting all fancied up and going out to a hoity toity restaurant and eating things off little plates with tiny little forks. If any of you know P.A., you know that there really aren't any fancy places to go. Even if you go to Amy's, all it takes is one yutz to show up in jeans and a Melfort dinner jacket (aka a lumber jacket) to ruin the mood. And so I've come to quite enjoy spending more money on munchies than we should and consuming way too many calories for 10:00 at night. But it's our date night...so that's okay. By the way, 'Knocked Up'? Two thumbs up (lots of F-bombs though!).
