New Year's Post #1...What I've Learned in 2007

I always have a lot to say in my journal at the end of the year so I figured I'd start posting short ones now, rather than one loooooong entry on New Year's Eve. Here is what I've learned this year (in no particular order of significance):

> I've learned what the animal limit is for this house.

> I've learned that I am not really a dog person...I am a "Shandi" person. Cats will always be number one in my heart.

> I've learned that I love falling in love with Mike all over again.

> I've learned that marriage really does change a relationship and whether that change is a good one or a bad one depends on how much work you are willing to put forth.

> I've learned that my mother really is right and to start listening to all of her advice!

> I've learned that my mother is also my closest friend.

> I've learned that there is nothing that can compensate for waiting for a baby...and that I just have to be patient.

> I've re-learned that everything happens for a reason, whether or not we ever find out what those reasons are.

> I've learned that watching a child being put under general anesthetic is one of the scariest things I've ever experienced.

> I've learned that a five pound bird hitting a vehicle going 100 km/h can do a significant amount of damage (actually, I learned that twice).

> I've learned honey garlic teriyaki has an expiry date that should be heeded.

> I've learned it's possible to continue throwing up long after you think you're finished.

> I've learned that fabric softener really does make a difference.

> I've learned that there really is a difference between salon products and drug store shampoo.

> I've learned that violins don't fix themselves.

> I've learned that a hug from my husband is generally all that is needed to bring me out of a funky mood.
