Mom and Dad just returned home from their trip to Thailand with a group called Global Neighbors. The group was helping add on to the Migrant School (for orphaned and displaced children), as well as doing some fun activities with the children (puppet plays, showing them what winter in Canada is like, singing songs, making puppets etc.). The second part of their trip was responding to the needs of the landfill families. If you visit the Global Neighbors* website, you will find much more information about what the organization does and about what Mom and Dad's group did during their trip (they are the Jan./Feb. group). For now, just enjoy the following video (approximately 10 minutes long).
*on an unimportant side note - why is 'neighbors' spelled the American way when it is a Canadian organization?
That's really great that your parents went over there. Our old next door neighbour in our old house (we've both since moved) went over there with G.N. 2 years ago. Sounds like a life-changing experience.
