So we made it Billings, Montana: two hours short of our destination of Bozeman, MT. The flat tire at the U.S. border held us up for a little while. Luckily, being questioned about the boys didn't hold us up for long. The customs officer questioned Colby's last name and why it didn't match up. We quickly explained and then I presented the letter of consent to travel that we had the boys' mom sign. Smart thinking. The flat tire was extremely irritating considering we just got four brand new tires on Wednesday...argh!
All in all, a really great day. Sixteen hours in the van was a little much, but we'll be doing it again tomorrow so I guess I can't complain for too long. And I didn't do any of the driving! Mike is such a trooper! Lots of laughs, lots of road trip games and lots of great road trip food - cheese strings, Crispers, apples, Hot Rods, apple juice, bunwiches and bananas. We'll dine on much of the same tomorrow. We're only dining out for one meal per day (supper). We're hoping to make it to Salt Lake City tomorrow...wish us luck that another tire doesn't go flat!
Glad you made it! But please don't blog about all of your good snacking, with me sitting at home with nothing in my cupboards...
ReplyDeleteHave fun! I just missed you the other night. Damnit.
Have a great trip.
Jyl, I totally meant to call you before you left but had a crazy week at work and now Amy is sick with croup.
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome journey. Bring me back lots of stories. Oh yeah, and if you see Paris Hilton, flip her the bird for me.
Don't forget to check out some of those seedy back alley out-of-the-trunk-of-the-car shops for some fake Louis Vuitton(?spelling)....but be careful! Hope everything goes well. Have fun you crazy kids!
