Float By Me

I had mentioned before about how the platys stay near each other when one is dying. Well, it's happening again. My little lemon platy looks near death's door, but she's been hanging in there for the past few days. Her gills have changed to a blood red colour, her pupils look really large (like they've burst or something) and her stomach is white instead of yellow. She treads water at the top of the tank just under where the filter dumps in the fresh water. And throughout all of this, my orange platy has stayed right be her side. The orange one helps out by shoo-ing away the other fish and by leading the lemon towards the food when it's been added. If the lemon drops down to the bottom, the orange is right next to her. It is such a neat thing to watch.

Well, if I have enough time in a day to sit and watch the goings-on of the fish (and analyzing their relationships), I also have a time to create a video about it (turn on your speakers). Why oh why did I have to get blessed with such a soft heart for animals?
