One Small Change Makes A World Of Difference

I had a couple of good laughs with two different students today. The first laugh came about from one student incorrectly spelling 'assess' in his vocabulary lesson. Everytime he meant to write the word 'assess', he wrote 'asses'. It was an honest mistake and it made for some pretty funny (albeit incorrect) sentences.

The second student was writing a summary of a magazine article. He had intended to talk about rapper's today, the level of success different rappers have achieved and how one goes about becoming a top rapper. Instead, one small spelling error turned his essay into talking about raper's today, the level of success different rapers have achieved and how one goes about becoming a top raper. The whole class had a good laugh at that one. It's these kinds of moments that make me thankful I'm teaching adults.
