Mini-Spa Night

It's been a long couple of days. I'm sick. Again. Woo hoo. I'm battling some strange sore thoat, dry cough, semi plugged nose, body ache thing. I haven't been sleeping very well because this cough keeps waking me up. I attempted to go to Saskatoon yesterday for an appointment. I was 45 minutes into my drive when I got a phone call from Mike saying the clinic had phoned to cancel my appointment (apparently my doctor was called into delivery). So, I turned around and trudged home. I was more than slightly disappointed since I had contemplated cancelling the appointment because I didn't feel well enough to drive. Argh.

Anyways, I was at Walmart this evening and I aimlessly drifted up and down the cosmetic aisles. I smelled all the shampoos and hoped to pick out a new one for myself. Instead, I stuck with my old stand by of Dove. I looked at all the lotions, but didn't buy any. I browsed the hair stuff and thought about buying myself some new clips. I looked at the facial scubs and pore cleansing pads, but again, decided my Dove does the trick. I ended up picking out a foot scrub and some lotion socks for myself. Tonight, I am going to give myself a pedicure and get rid of all this dry, cracking, flaky skin on my heels. Then, I am going to use the nail shine kit my brother, Britt, got me for Christmas. After that, I am going to curl up in the tub with a cup of tea, some caramel chocolate hearts and my first issue of "Style At Home" magazine (Mike's mom got me a subscription for my birthday and it just showed up today). I think I will go crazy tonight and use bubbles with the jets on :-) Since I was shown how to do the french-twist-in-the-hair-using-a-pencil-trick (thanks Laena!), I'm going to feel very Julia Roberts a la "Pretty Woman" tonight! Maybe this will help get me back on track since this is now TWICE I have been sick since 2009 started.

On the upside, something that made my day was seeing that the little care package I sent to Valeria's daughter, Elena, made it to Italy today. Valeria posted a picture of all the little treats and stickers that I sent and it is so neat to see the things that were sitting on my desk last week, are now sitting on her desk! Since Valeria's blog is private, I will ask her permission to copy and paste her words onto my blog (and maybe one of the pictures) because I want to share all the kind things Valeria had to say! I just love love love the way she writes!

Have a good night everyone...I'm off to Taves' Toe Spa!

Sure, copy and paste anything you like on the blog, I'll be happy to see it on yours and if there is any of your friends whom would like to be invited in my blog, just let me know, I will send out an invitation!
So you are a Dove girl? So why didn't you buy any new lotion? Which one are you using now? I love NIVEA, the dry skin one: I love that smell!!! Though, the truth is, I hardly use the lotion in winter, I just rush to get dressed...
It comforts me to know that I am not the only one who smells shampoos and stuff...I have to, how can one possibly buy a shower gel or a lotion without smelling it?!?
Walmart is sooo american! Is it very big? I should have a look through the web....
It would be lovely to chat, if we could make it tonight? Do you think? Say at 10, my time?

  2. Hey Jyl,

There is a really cool store in Saskatoon called The Bath Goddess. They sell all natural bath products that you can add your own scent and color to in order to personalize it. There are over 200 scents! I think you would like the store, have you ever heard of it?

  4. It is on the South side of Clarence, South of the Circle Drive overpass. It is a little out of the way, but totally worth it! I think it is Clarence and 110th.

  5. It's on the corner of Clarence and Stonebridge Boulevard. Right behind the new Tim Horton's. Not too far from the Stonebridge Walmart.

Bath Goddess is a super neat store. I need to go back and do some more sniffing :)
