I Would Like To Meet Her

They say that everyone has a twin. Apparently, mine lives right here in town. Whenever I go into Superstore, the greeter always gives me an enthusiastic, "Hello!" and "I haven't seen you in awhile...how are you doing?". The first time she said this to me, I was flattered. I had worked at Superstore for five months back in 1995 and I was touched that she remembered me. Until she added, "And how are the boys doing?". I figured there was no way she knew that I had stepchildren, so I just naturally assumed she maybe hit the bong or powdered her nose a little before she came on shift.

And then it started happening in Pennington's. I am in there often enough that I got to know the sales women, but when one woman asked me the same thing, I asked her, "How did you know I have kids?". She then realized I wasn't who she thought I was and then filled me in on how there is another woman who looks exactly like me, but she has two little boys.

The next time I was in Superstore and the greeter said the same things to me, I told her apparently I have a look-a-like and that I am not who she thinks I am. Her jaw dropped and she said how eerie it is how much this other woman and I look alike.

Since finding this out, the Superstore greeter still continues to ask me how the boys and I are doing. I have been sooooo tempted to mess with her and tell her how my one son had to have his leg amputated but the hospital was all out of artificial limbs, so he has to use half a pogo stick as a leg. Or that I am a test subject for an experimental drug to help cure flesh eating disease. Or about the time I safely landed a plane on the North Saskatchewan river and all 3000 people on board survived. That would really make my rotten shopping day so much better :-)

A while ago someone told me they had a waitress who looked "just like me". I'm always curious what these people must look like, where the similarities are.

ANyway, last night I dreamt about our date. Marc had to "run out" and get something before we left and he didn't get back until 5:30. Amy's called to see if we still wanted our reservation. I talked on the phone with the tall blond waiter -- I knew his voice.

And while we were waiting, I noticed Luke was having a nap in the fireplace, in between the flames. I was only a little concerned, b/c for some reason this was normal. Then he came out b/c he was hot and he need aloe on his back, go figure. :)
