We went to Bath Goddess first...all I have to say is yum! We stood and sniffed all 235 scents, but we couldn't come up with a mixtue we liked. So, I ended up buying a reed diffuser that had a scent called "Grandma's Kitchen". It smells like baking and warmth and just a whole bunch of goodness swirled around! I also bought a Caramel Latte scented lotion...while it smells oh-so-wonderful, it appears to have a nasty side effect...I can't seem to stop licking my forearm. As a final treat, I bought myself a colourful bar of soap that smells like coconut birthday cake. Seriously, how am I supposed to diet when I constantly smell like a bakery (I was really tempted to omit the word "bakery" and replace it with "Betty Crocker's vagina", but that would be a little crude, wouldn't it?).
After Bath Goddess, we wandered over to Urban Barn. This was my first time in the store and I could have done some serious damage in there...I loved the vases, the pictures, the frames, the cute little cappuccino mugs, the trinkets and fridge magnets. All of it is just so pretty! I bought a fruit basket for my sister (who keeps commenting on how much she likes mine) and three vanilla candles.
I dropped Kristan off at home and made my way over to Carmen's house for a quick visit. It was soooo nice to finally meet her handsome little son, Koen, and to just be able to catch up. We saw each other at our high school reunion in 2007, but we were sitting at opposite ends of the table so we really didn't get a chance to chat. It had been well over ten years since we had a decent conversation, but it felt like no time had passed at all! The afternoon flew by...we were out of time, but far from out of things to say! So, I'm hoping I can either stop in again when I'm through Warman next, or else for Carmen to come visit here!
My drive home consisted of me singing show tunes from Les Miserable, some Kelly Clarkson and couple variations of the Star Spangled Banner. I love driving by myself...I think I should have been a trucker.
When I got home, Mike had ordered a pizza for us, so we ate quick and I sent Mike off to the Raider game. He just phoned to say friends of ours are at the game and they want to do something after. So, we will probably head over to the casino, have a drinks and try our luck on a few of the machines.
Shopping, great friends, pizza and a little alcohol thrown in for good measure...what a fabulous day!
Yay! It was so good to see you and catch up! I can hardly wait for our next visit so we can catch up some more. Hard to sum up 10 years in just a few hours!!
