I Plan On Spending A Lot More Time Here

My brother, Britt, recently bought an acreage that sits just outside Saskatoon (near Pike Lake). The first time we were out there was on a bitterly cold day back in January (the first day he moved in). It was -45 C and way too cold to look around the property...just a quick tour of the house and we were back in the van to warm up.

Britt decided to host a supper as a welcome back to my parents. It was an absolutely gorgeous day...14 C with a light wind. The supper was awesome...great company, wonderful food and beautiful scenery.

Mike, Joel, Shandi and I went for a walk through the forest surrounding the house.

I love this pic because Joel is on his back wheels and it looks like Shandi is pulling him along

Vinnie, one of the farm kitties, wanted to check out my camera

One of the other farm kitties (I can't remember his name) lounging on the tree house

An old combine on the back of Britt's property

A swamp/pond that is FULL of frogs...for being such little creatures, they sure can make a ruckus!

Britt's home...yes, those six windows look into the pool house!

As soon as we turned out of Britt's driveway, there were 10-15 deer scattered throughout the fields. They bolted as soon as the saw us, hence the blurry picture.

While driving home, Mike and I both commented that we need to spend more time on the acreage. It is so calm and quiet and it is going to be so beautiful when the trees get their greenery. Plus, bombing around on the quad only makes the day that much better!

  1. What a fantastic day! And beautiful property! I'd so love to walk around there. It seems that spring has finally come, even in the cold cold Canada!
Joel is so cute. A warm embrace from cloudy Verona. xxx
