Some of questions we've pondered are:
Could you sit in a tub of human excrement for 3 minutes?
Could you poke yourself with one of two needles, knowing one has pricked an HIV positive person and that you'd have a 50/50 chance of ending up with HIV?
Could you play Russian Roulette?
Could you choose a random human to be killed? (You don't have to do the killing, you just have to pick someone).
Could you add an extra 300 pounds to your current weight?
Could you give up one of your five senses?
Could you give up your voice for the rest of your life?
Could you eat puke? (Sorry, I know that one is gross)
As for the money aspect, the person posing the question gives the question a dollar value. The person answering can change the amount of money they would do the dare for (if they would do it at all). Take the first question, for example. When Mike threw this one at me, he tagged on a million dollar prize. I said no. But for $40 million and as long as I didn't have to dunk my head under, I could do it. We allow each other to make changes to the dare as well (like I just did).
Mike and I have played a lot of sessions of this game. The conclusion? There's not much we wouldn't do for money. I know, I know...that makes us appear shallow. Or stupid. But when one of us gets squeamish or unsure, we remind each other that if there were to be a suitcase full of cash sitting in front us, it would change a lot of things. And the thought of living the rest of our lives (and possibly our children's lives) without having to worry about money certainly has its appeal. I would have to draw the line at eating barf...only because I don't think my body would physically let me. I shouldn't be thinking of that as supper sits cooking in the oven behind me :-)So, did I just ruin any positive image you may have had of Mike and I?
But have you ever really thought about it...what would/could you do for money? From the scenarios above, which ones could you do and what would be your price tag? Where would you draw the line?
We always play the game, "how much would I have to pay you to..."
ReplyDeleteMostly it involves "how much would I have to pay you to go to a Celine Dion concert?" Or Rod Stewart. (Sorry if you're a fan.) I think it would be about $500 for these concerts...
LOL...no, I'm not a fan of either so no offense taken! For the record, I'd probably charge $1000 to sit through either of those concerts :-)
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no, no, no.... I'll stay where I am, with my five senses, my voice and little money.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, I still adore you!
