I feel compelled to post something each day, just so that those of you who are waiting as patiently as I am (or impatiently) will know that it's not "go time" yet. But maybe today is the day?
Since about 2:00 this morning, I've had fairly irksome crampy feelings. As of 8:30am, the cramps have progressed to the point where every 6-7 minutes, my stomach hurts for about 30 seconds or so. There's a pain that wraps around from my back to across my lower belly. And I still don't know if these are contractions yet. Those of you who have gone through labour before are probably laughing right now. You're either thinking to yourself, "Fool! Those aren't contractions! You just have to poop!" or else you're thinking, "Fool! Get to a hospital!".
I'm holding the pain of my gallstone attacks in the forefront of my mind, to use them as a gauge for pain. I'm expecting that my contractions should be somewhere on that level, but, if these are contractions, they are no where near that...yet. I've been told that you cannot talk or joke through a "real" contraction. So, the fact that I've been my fairly usual self this morning tells me we're not quite at "that" point yet.
But I just thought I'd let you all know. In the days to come, if I am still at home I will post something each morning...even if it's just the word "Nothing" so as to let you know I'm still home and Baby is still tucked up safely inside of me. On that morning when nothing shows up, that'll be the clue that I'm not so much at home anymore :-)
And now I'm going to bath.
Sounds like something is beginning! I'd say that given you are 6 days late at this point, it fairly safe to say you are starting the labour process. When the contractions become unbearable, go to the hospital! Yay for babies! My cousin and his wife had their baby boy yesterday, you today maybe and me SOON I hope!
ReplyDeleteThat is totally the start of labour! Especially since you're overdue. Congrats! I don't think you necessarily have to wait until the pain is unbearable...you just might not have contractions that are that painful. I would go when the contractions are 4-5 min. apart even if they're still not that painful. However, you may feel like pooping just because you're so excited!!!
ReplyDeleteoooo!
ReplyDeleteShe's on her way!
Okay, I checked Westjet and Air Canada. I could get there and back for just over $400. But I wouldn't get to PA until 10pm, which means I could just start driving now and get there at the same time!
ReplyDeleteThere was a return flight from Air Canada that cost $2,000 and went through either Chicago or Denver! Craziness!
I'm thinking -- you have a long distance plan right? -- just call me and set the phone by you and I should be able to be get through this from 9 hours away. :)
I'm so happy it's finally time! You can do it!!! I'm thinking about you and rooting for you and waiting for the call!
Much appreciated... I anxiously await... mostly just anticipating what name you have chosen, i'm so curious.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you.
