Obsess Much?

Well, I think it's already been well-established that I may have some obsessive-compulsive tendencies.  Let's take a look back and see whether there is any history of obsessions that may support these current findings.

Exhibit A - Keanu Reeves

When I was fifteen, I saw the movie, "Speed" for the first time.  It was all right.  Nothing to get overly excited about.  The other 48 times that I watched it that month? Meh...that was merely for research purposes on that science project I was doing about velocity.  Yeah...velocity, that's it.  Yes, I rushed out and bought the soundtrack, but most fans do that.  Yes, I memorized every. single. line from the movie, but isn't that normal?  The lead actor, Keanu Reeves, is definitely a hottie, but I wouldn't say I was "obsessed" with him.  Yes, I knew his birthday.  And what his name means.  And where he grew up.  And every movie he ever had a role in.  And his favourite bands (but it's not like I went out and bought the CDs).  Or why he has a large scar on his navel.  And exactly how many moles he has on his body.  Or what his favourite motorcycle is.  But to say I was obsessed?  I don't know if I'd go that far.  If I was obsessed, I would have made a point of travelling to the small Winnipeg theatre AFTER Keanu was long gone from where he performed as Hamlet just so that I could touch the same door handle as him.

um....

oh, wait....

shit....

Well, maybe I was "interested" in him, but I still think obsessed is too strong of a word.  Let's take a look at the small collection of photos I had of him...

See? Just one wall of photos...that's not so bad, is it? Nice touch on the large poster with having all the miniature pics cut out and glued on.

Well, I guess two walls of photos isn't so bad. Wait...are those just random heads floating there? Why did I just cut out his head? Where's his body?

What's this? An entire wall reserved solely for articles written about Keanu from June 1994 to September 1995? Nothing crazy here...move along, people.

Okay, just let me point out that this wall is devoted to Hollywood in general so HA! I wasn't obsessed. Oh, except for the large free standing Keanu cut-out from the video store that was a birthday present from my brother. It was a gift, so it's not like I could say no, right? Let's continue...

Okay, so maybe I was a touch obsessed with Keanu.  But this was a one time thing...I haven't had any other obsessions in my past.  Sweet Valley Twins?  Yes, I loved those books to the point where I made myself an honorary Unicorn member and I had to wear something purple everyday, but at least I was reading, right?  What's that?  Did I hear someone mention "Jurassic Park"?  It's a movie about dinosaurs so it was educational.  As for the fact that I bought an outfit to mimic Dr. Grant, right down to the red bandana he wore around his neck?  Let's not focus as much on the fact that I copied an outfit from the movie so much as why the f&#k wasn't I copying the female's outfit?

So - those were my only obsessions.  This post can end right here.

Oh, for shit's sake....

  1. HA!
I love what looks to be a Titanic shrine on the table in the last shot.
    Priceless.

  2. If memory serves me correct, it's just the Titanic t-shirt as a table cloth with non-Titanic items on top of it.

But I'm pretty sure the Titanic script is somewhere on the shelves underneath :-)
