My week in review:
- I had a bump on my leg removed this morning. I've had it for about ten years and it was high time to get rid of it. It looked like a large zit that would never pop so the reason for the removal was purely aesthetic. My doctor was very impressed that I was able to watch the entire procedure, right from the first needle to the last stitch. He commented that perhaps I should think about a career in medicine. I replied that it would be a career in self medicine since I can't watch this stuff being done on other people. Also, I wouldn't be able to deal with broken bones, smashed faces, missing teeth or anything with fingernails. It would be a very short-lived career. He also commented that if I can handle watching this, he was surprised that I didn't video tape or want a mirror while Kat was being born. My reply? If I would have watched what was going on, Kat would not have any subsequent siblings.
- We are heading to Calgary today and I'm super nervous about travelling with Kat for the first time. I'm not worried that she won't be a good baby - I'm just worried that I will end up packing her entire room! She will likely require a larger suitcase than Mike and I combined. The weather is also adding to my nerves. After all this beautiful weather we've had, it just had to snow/sleet/rain on the day we are leaving.
- Mike and I quietly celebrated our ten year dating anniversary on Monday. You can read the story of how we met if you like. We made a supper of ribs and rice, with Kat cooing and babbling beside the supper table. While we drank coffee and nibbled on cheesecake, we read aloud our old 'love' letters. Well, it was mostly reading my love letters since Mike only wrote a total of two to me (hint hint dear husband). We put more emphasis on this anniversary, rather than our wedding anniversary since this one was the beginning of us (whereas our wedding was just a public affirmation of our love). We had talked about what we could buy as gifts for one another and I ended up declining any type of jewelry. I don't need diamonds from Mike to know that he loves me - he shows his love every single day. But apparently I don't show my love on a daily basis because Mike was reallllly pushing for me to buy him a ski-doo :-)
I also made a short video for our anniversary. Or I should say I tried to make a video. My Studio program decided to act up, so the music kind of skips. And then each time I tried to save it to file, my computer would shut off in the middle. Plus I forgot to taper off the music at the end so it just keeps playing. Argh. Oh well, I don't have time to monkey around with it anymore so here it is in all it's skipping glory. Happy ten years, Babe. I can't wait to see what the next ten brings us :-)
