I Just Don't Get It

How is it possible that Katelyn can still fit the diaper shirts (or onesies) that she wore home from the hospital and yet she is already outgrowing many of the six month sleepers?  There is lots of room girth-wise left in the 6-month sleepers, but she is stretching them length wise.  The one thing that really bugs me is the fact that manufacturers haven't clued in to the idea that maybe they should make baby clothes based on weight and not months.  By the time summer hits, Katelyn is definitely going to be fitting twelve month clothes.  In fact, yesterday she had on a pair of 18-month pants that fit nicely in the waist and the cuffs only had to be rolled up once.

The only good thing out of this whole size fiasco is that it means I get to shop for a legitimate reason and not just because, "I know she has 12 dresses, but this one was just too cute to pass up!". :-)

  1. The other thing I find is that the brands fit different. JOE onesies fit very wide on my kids. I'm partial to Baby's Own and Pekkle (costco) onesies. They seem to fit my kids the best.

Also, my little girl really thinned out once she started walking. You may notice that you will be able to fit Katelyn into clothes you thought she outgrew.

I think shoes are even more frustrating to buy for kids. Terribly cute, but vary so much in fit.

  2. I've given up trying to figure it all out - kids clothes are even worse than women's clothing, I think!

  3. I guess her legs are getting longer and her torso not so much!

I like Old Navy the best; their sizes are the most accurate and fit my fat babies the best because they tend to measure kind of wide.
