To celebrate Katelyn turning the big 5/12, she and I went on a little shopping excursion to Saskatoon. We missed out on doing her five month photo shoot today, so the shoot will have to take place tomorrow or Monday. Hence the Part One, Part Two title.
The day started off with lunch at Saigon Rose with the 'rents and my brother. Next, it was off to the airport to greet my nephews and bro-in-law from Germany. The b-i-l is doing a farm/trade show thing in Winnipeg or Regina (I don't know I wasn't really listening) so he brought the boys along to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa. After the airport, it was time for the real fun to begin.
We started at Winners and scoured the racks of adorable dresses. I talked myself out of buying one of everything and settled for a pair of pink Peter Rabbit overalls. I was so excited about the sheer cuteness of the ensemble, I almost did an outfit change at the till. And just so we're all on the same page, I'm talking about clothes for Katelyn, not myself. I wouldn't get naked in a Winners. Well, not again anyways. The first three times were embarassing enough.
Next, it was on to Once Upon A Child. I was in search of a jean skirt that will perfectly match the little leggings that I haven't quite found yet either, but I'll know them when I see them. Katelyn and I were both starting to get tired and hungry, but I didn't want to end my Day Of Spending just yet. We roamed through Michael's and found some uber cute pink/white/chocolate brown polka dot storage boxes to house all of Katelyn's books.
Lastly, we ventured into Old Navy to try and find some more cute pajamas. I found something much better - a blog reader. Or I guess I should say she found me :-) I thought it was pretty cool to meet someone because of my blog, so thank you for coming up and saying hello, Kara. When I got home and told Mike about it, he asked, "Did you pull out your Sharpie and offer to sign something for her?. Smartass.
