The twelfth marked your half-year birthday. Already. It has gone by WAY too quickly. On one hand, I lament that time is passing by so fast. On the other, I love watching you grow. You seem to discover new tricks every day. Just this morning, you seemed especially pleased with yourself for discovering you can waggle your head back and forth as I was changing your diaper. I would have posted this on your actual "birthday", but I've been high as a kite on muscle relaxants since I tore my rib muscles. It would have been a very short note :-)
At six months old...
...you are 27 inches and weigh 17 lbs 14.5 oz.
...you are rolling over. You are lean, mean rolling machine. And when Daddy and I clap our hands and cheer, "Yaaaayyy Kate-lyn!", the smile on your face is pure sunshine.
...you are a snuggler and I love cuddling with you while you fall asleep. You nuzzle your face into the softness of your teddy bear and, within minutes, you are drifting into dreamland.
...you are a smiler. The instant you spy us peeking over your bassinett in the morning (when we finally give in to your violent kicking that causes the your wee bed to shake and squeak), you start the day off with a huge grin and you don't stop until bed time.
...you are strong. You've been standing with minimal support to hold you up for over a month now.
...you are a jumper. You cannot get enough of your Jumperoo. There are times you bounce so hard, I wouldn't be surprised if you launched yourself across the living room.
...you are the apple of your daddy's eye. He loves to cuddle and play with you. Your giggle makes him smile a smile that I've never seen before.
...you are not a fan of sweet potatoes. You get that from me :-)
...you are very, very loved.
I will post your six months photos as soon as I get around to taking them. Mommy has been very lazy this week. Just be thankful I even showered.
