Soaking It All In

I don't like the fact that I'm not posting much lately.  It's not that I'm not feeling good...I'm just spending all of my time with Miss K.  Given that there are only 9 weeks left before Baby shows up (I've said to Mike numerous times that I think Baby will show up before 40 weeks), I'm passing the days completely wrapped up in K and trying to enjoy these last weeks with her as "my baby".

On the nice days, we spend the time outside...blowing bubbles, playing in the paddling pool, at the park or running up and down the sidewalk.  On the crappy, rainy days, we're destroying the living room, harassing Shandi and working on reading.  Yes, reading.  Given that this kid knows her alphabet forwards and backwards, I've started introducing the letter sounds and some simple words.  While she recognizes her own name, I think it will be awhile before she's reading my Sweet Valley Twin books :)

Pregnancy wise, I feel....blech ugh blargh.  My pubic bone is giving me grief again with it's lovely *pop* *pop* *pop* every flippin' time I try to roll over.  It is loud enough that it wakes Mike up.  I remember when it first happened (when I was pregnant with K), I thought to myself, "Great...I've somehow managed to be the first woman to literally break her vagina bone".  Baby moves and squiggles all day long, sometimes shoving its wee foot up into what feels like the middle of my lungs.  Despite my physical uncomfortable-ness, I am LOVING being able to watch my belly jump and bump as Baby tries to get comfy.  I'm pretty sure this will be my last pregnancy and I'm trying to absorb all the wonderful, weird feelings that are associated with growing a human in your belly :)

This coming week will be filled with time spent with my nephews from Germany, Julius and Fabian.  Although they only arrived yesterday, K is completely enchanted with them...to the point that she was playing "pretend" last night (leading an imaginary Fabi around the house and showing him all her toys).  I am so loving watching her grow and change!

Once again, there may not be many posts over the next week or so (but I really do need to post about venturing into my neighbour's house because we were concerned she might be dead), so I'll leave you with two videos...one of Shandi overtaking the park behind our house and the other one I sent out to announce our pregnancy :)
