For The Love of September

September has always been my favourite month.  When I was younger, I loved all the new back to school clothes and the chance to see all my school friends again to catch up about our summers.  September is more the start of a new year than January ever will be.  January is blah and cold and just generally sucks.  September is still warm enough to get away with a t-shirt and awesome boots on some days :)

I make my resolutions in September and it's also about getting back into a routine.  More regularly cooked meals instead of thrown-together mish mashes at the last minute.  Back to a regular sleep routine for the ones that are in school.  I think another reason I love September is because I love school supplies...fancy notebooks and fun pens have always been a favourite of mine.

It's 6:00am and I've been wide awake since before 5:00am. I suppose that's what happens when you go to bed at 7:00pm.  My parents have both kids for the whole week and Mike and I are using this time to get caught up on all the things we haven't been able to do with little kids underfoot.  Things like giving the house a deep cleaning and purge.  Cleaning out the vehicle.  Sweeping the driveway and getting rid of all the broken chalk remnants that have been laying around all summer.  Actually folding the laundry and getting it put away instead of letting it just sit clean in the baskets.  Important stuff, ya know? When I'm done this post, I plan on starting my meal lists for next week and heading out grocery shopping early.  It's either that or heading back to bed for a few more hours of sleep :)  We shall see...

I still have yet to hear back about getting on the sub list and I'd be lying if I said I won't be heartbroken if I don't make it onto that list.  I don't really have any other options for work...this is what I'm qualified to do.  While it did suck that neither Safeway nor Carters' would hire me, I know I was way overqualified for those jobs.  Subbing? It's what I'm educated for and it's what I really want to do.

Back to loving September...I love the cool, crisp weather.  I love leaves falling.  I love wearing sweaters.  I love crock pot meals and making soups and home made buns.  I love that Thanksgiving and Halloween are getting closer.  I even love the fact that it means that first snowfall is getting closer.  As much as I love summer and all the fun-filled activities we try to pack into two short months, I love September even more :)

Happy Wednesday, y'all :)
