My Bedtime Regimen

I love sleeping.  Partly because it shuts down my brain and I don't have to think, but mostly because my bed is so comfy.  I love getting ready for bed.  My routine starts to get my brain ready that nigh-nigh is coming soon (I guess that's the same reason we have routines for our kids as well).

The routine starts with my bedtime pills which include my anti-anxiety pill, my lithium and some magnesium (nothing like a little natural remedy thrown in with anti-psychotics).  Next up is teeth brushing and face washing (just with Dove).  After that, I put on my sleep lotion all over my clavicle and chest.  Next, I scrub my hands with this soufflé scrub I bought at a trade show...it leaves my hands super soft.  Following the scrub is another round of hand lotion.  Next, I rub essential oils behind my ears. The oils are from the Healing Hollow and are supposed to help balance hormones.

Once I move to the bed, it's time to mist my pillow with a sleep spray that I bought from the Body Shop.  Next is a shot of eye drops (since my eye surgery in 2002, I've had super dry eyes) and a dosing of EOS lip balm.  Lastly, I take a big gulp of water from the water jug that's constantly beside my bed.  Lithium makes me thirsty so I sip on it throughout the night if/when I wake up.

Like I said, I love my routine.  I smell good, I feel good and the essential oil makes me super relaxed.  Now that I'm done typing that, I'm off to start my routine.  Night night!
