And Now I'll Eat Some Crow

In an earlier blog, I explained my reasons for not wanting to partake in Mike's family's Xmas gift exchange. I had made mention of the fact that my siblings and I have not done a gift exchange in years. I ranted about how I don't like having to buy gifts out of obligation and that it really just comes down to exchanging gift certificates so why not save your money and buy your own gift certificate or whatever you want.

Last night, my brother proposed that since three out of us four siblings are within 130km of each other that we should do a gift exchange among us and our spouses. I jumped at the chance without even asking Mike. I had some explaining to do at the end of that phone call

Without going in to great detail, basically what it came down to (in my eyes) is that we participated in one gift exchange with Mike's siblings (the first year we were together) and we have never participated in one with my siblings. So, the score is now even and it's one to one. If we choose to partake in next years exchange with my siblings, we will partake in Mike's. Can I have some salt with my crow?

  1. Haha! I guess you can probably call the shots in this area. If yours are like my family you end up doing all of the shopping on your own anyway!!
