Does This Purse Make Me Look Rich?

Ever since I fell in love with Hollywood, I fell in love with all the status symbols that go along with it. I was fourteen when I became a star-gazer and I don't think it will ever end. One of these years, I hope to be in the crowd for the Oscars Red Carpet. Or else be streaking down it. Either way I'd be happy, but the latter would cause a lot of burned retinas.

For at least eight years now, I have loved loved loved Louis Vuitton. I stopped and tried to think why I love LV so much. The only answer I could come up with is because it's a status symbol. Whatever. That's good enough for me.

Actually, I think the reason I love it so much if because of what it stands for. When I was fifteen, I dreamt about moving to Hollywood and becoming the next big "It" girl. Who am I kidding...I still dream about it. But at fifteen, it was still possible. Of course, I never took any drama classes or did any actual work towards reaching my goal. Oh no...I was just going to move to L.A. and get discovered while sipping a Chai Latte at the Coffee Bean.

For me, LV represents all those dreams I had as a teenager and it sums up the crazy, crazy obsession I had, not just with Keanu Reeves, but with all of Hollywood-land. I never missed an episode of Entertainment Tonight because, back then, that was the only way to get my fill of celebrity gossip. Now, I am constantly checking I'm Not Obsessed and Perez Hilton in order to get my daily dose of dirt.

Tonight, I found a used Louis Vuitton White Multicolor Speedy 30 handbag on e-Bay. And it's ONLY $1200 (so far). I phoned Mike at work and asked (okay begged) if I could buy it and I said THAT would be my 30th birthday present. For those of you keeping track at home, all I want for my 30th is an Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer, a photo studio in my basement, a trip to Europe and a Louis Vuitton. That's not asking for much is it? Well, I guess we do need to leave something for the party guests to buy me. Maybe two friends could team up and go half-sies on the SUV.
