And that's putting it mildly :-) Three out of the four of us have been homebound for two days with the runs. I don't want to get too graphic, but man oh man, when Joel has the shits, it is a two man job to get him cleaned up. For the rest of us, we can at least get to the toilet and let gravity do its thing. For Joel, his bowel movements only have so much room in his diaper. Once it's full, it has no where to go but up and out. Then, when we lay him down to change him, the poo continues on its upward path along his back. It is nasty, to say the least.
On top of having stomach issues (I had originally blamed the chicken we had for supper on Tuesday, but I'm not so sure that's the case anymore), we ended up locking ourselves out of the house on Wednesday night. Colby was at work, I left my keys at home and Mike's house key was sitting on the kitchen counter (left there by Colby who had needed the key on Tuesday). We had gone out to get some medicine for Joel and decided a fresh air drive would do us all some good. When we got home, we found ourselves in a bit of a pickle. We ended up spending $60 to have our locks picked. Let me tell you - having to go to the bathroom while waiting for the lock smith just about forced me to use Shandi's corner of the lawn!
And to keep this parade of shit going, I am now starting to get a head cold...plugged ears, sore throat, stuffy nose, body aches etc. At least the boys are going to their mom's house tomorrow evening and I will have the weekend to myself to recuperate.
To add insult to injury, we found out today that we are, once again, not pregnant. I decided to keep a lid on things this time around...not for any reason in particulr, I just didn't feel like sharing this time. It seemed to make the time go by more quickly. But, we will keep trying. It's bound to happen sooner or later. And since Mike just set up the "will become a nursery eventually" room into his own make-shift gaming den, I'm hoping it happens sooner rather than later :-)
Here's to hoping you feel better soon!!! And an extra vibe for getting preggers...it's right around the corner!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon... it really sounds like a shitty week. Sorry to hear you're not pregnant. It will happen. Bisous
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I am so sorry for all this and I really do hope you and Joel will recover very soon. You are such a wonderful mom...
ReplyDeleteBut, honestly, I also laughed... Yes, you are so funny you always make me smile because you can say things like ...having almost used Shandi's corner...
I wish I could write as you do! So much!
And I can't forget one of the posts I read when I found your blog, the one about you peeing on your feet, that was a masterpiece! And I remember having thought you were so funny and easy going about you...
Hope to chat with you soon. A big hug.
