What Is She Waiting For?

How many more bursts of nesting can I possibly go through before Baby shows up? I was wide awake Saturday morning at 6:00am as Mike was leaving for work. Since then, I have been on the go, almost in a crazy rampage, cleaning, purging, organizing and exfoliating. I cannot sit down. I look around the house and just keep finding more things I can do. I even went as far as nailing the casings back on to our back door. They've been piled in the corner for over a year, but I decided it was high time they returned to their original position.

Is Baby waiting for:

- Joel's laundry to be done, folded and put away? Done.

- Joel's room to be purged and re-organized? Done.

- the floors to be swiffered and washed? Done.

- the living room and our bedroom to be dusted? Done and done.

- the main bathroom to be cleaned, including washing the shower curtain and bath mat? Done.

- my bathroom to be purged and cleaned, including scrubbing behind the toilet? Done.

- the linen closet to be purged and re-organized? Done.

- the kitchen to be cleaned from top to bottom, including scrubbing the range hood and under the microwave? Done.

- the desk in the kitchen to be purged? Done.

- our laundry to be washed, folded and put away? Done.

- the master closet to be purged and re-organized? Done.

- my junk drawer to be purged? Done.

- her laundry and bedding to be re-washed? Done.

- the bassinett built and the sheets put on? Done.

- grocery shopping for the week? Done.

- plastic wrap to be put on our bedroom windows for insulation? Done.

- another Christmas salad made since there was an extra can of mandarin oranges and pineapples left over? Done.

- a cake baked? Done.

- muffins made? Done.

Maybe she's waiting for my teeth to be checked and cleaned? Well, it just so happens I have a dentist appt. this morning. Maybe she's waiting for cable to be hooked up in the living room? Sasktel should be here by noon. I just don't know what else I can do/finish that will make her satisfied enough to want to come out.

What I do know is that I was driving Mike nuts with my lack of ability to sit down for a minute over these past two days. I told him I just needed to get this house in tip-top shape before Baby shows up. That way, if I die giving birth, at least the house would be clean when people come over to drop off casseroles for Mike.

And now I'm going to knock on some wood.

  3. That last paragraph is written in true Jyl style, lol. I hope she comes soon but try to enjoy your time before she comes.....even if it's at the dentists' office.

  4. I hope tonight your body finally decides to show you just what its capable of - though by all accounts what you've accomplished today may just be more than actually giving birth! Wishing a baby for you very soon!
