The Promised Pics

Again, it's 1:00am and I find myself blogging. Oh, well...at least there is routine to my day :-)

These were the winter items I picked up.  I tell you...that vest...that furry pink vest is going to be the death of me. Why oh why can't they make some of these things in adult sizes? Actually, they probably do...and I think they're worn by transvestites.

Also added to Katelyn's closet were 2 pairs of pjs, a poodle shirt, 1 onesie, 2 pairs of shorts, 2 skirts and 3 pairs of jeans and 1 pair of lovely black velour pants (that will match the furry vest quite nicely).

Top left: the Strawberry Shortcake overalls...TOO FRICKIN' CUTE!
Top right: a perfect pink dress for church!
Bottom left: a retro-type smock that will look adorable with one of the bonnets I ordered off Etsy
Bottom right: Um...hello?  A little pair of red shoes with this dress and you've got Dorothy from Wizard of Oz!

Again, all these clothes were only $12.00.  I've heard some moms say they would never buy anything second hand for their precious little ones.  While I have bought new clothes for Katelyn, I can't help but wonder why on earth would someone pay full price for ALL your kid's clothes when you can find awesome clothes at consignment stores, garage sales or Kijiji?

  1. Nice score! I love the little Dorothy dress!

I used to buy my a lot of my little's clothes second hand too, or on sale (tip: end of July and November = major sales at the Gap and everywhere else. I never noticed until I was baby clothes shopping). Another good place for name brand stuff is Value Village. Especially the baby stuff, it's practically brand new and you can get all kinds of cute homemade sweaters and things for like two bucks. Isn't dressing up a baby girl the best thing ever?

  2. I never even thought of Value Village...I normally just go there to score Sweet Valley High books :-)

And YES dressing girls is so much fun! My sister has two boys and as I've been sending her pictures of Katelyn's outfits and clothes, she confessed she wished she'd had a little girl - dressing boys just isn't as much fun. You can only do so much with baseball hats and shirts with trucks on them :-)

  3. Amen Jyl, seriously, you have no idea how much Mexx Everly wears. I have never ever bought a new item of it...I let all the suckers buy it new and I indulge at a fraction of the price!
