Seven Months Old

Dear Katelyn,

This letter is coming to you almost a week late, but in these lazy days of summer, time just seems to drift by without being noticed.  You have turned into such a little goofball and I love it.  I can say with total certainty that you will inherit my sense of humour.  You have this little head waggle that makes everyone around you crack up.  You make sure to make eye contact with your target first and when you've locked them in with your gorgeous blue eyes, you break into a huge grin and wiggle your head.  It's your way of communicating and it is to die for.

You are an absolute joy to be around.  You love to entertain and chat.  As I type this, you are laying on the floor of your playpen and are engaged in a very serious one-sided conversation (complete with arm flailing to help prove your point).  You typically end your little speeches by sticking out your tongue and giving a heart felt "Pbffffffffff!" as if to say, "I am seven months old and uber cute....your argument is rendered invalid".

At seven months old...

...you are almost sitting up completely on your own

...you have two bottom teeth

...you love to cuddle with your blankie bear when you are falling asleep

...you love apples and squash (not so much the sweet potatoes)

...you know what to do when I stick a camera in your face

...you love music and to wiggle your little body

...you love dancing with Daddy

...you love being in Joel's room and watching the colourful movie props hanging from the ceiling

...you laugh at Shandi whenever she walks by (which probably doesn't help her self esteem)

...you are very interested in Baby Kitty but she pays you no-never-mind

...you are very studious and like to inspect an object for minutes on end

...you are very interested in whatever Daddy or I are doing (washing dishes, making supper etc) and you study our actions like there will be a test at the end

You are the light of my life and the sunshine of my day.  No matter how I am feeling, you always make me smile.  You've had some troubled days lately as your top teeth are attemping to pop through your gums, but for the most part, you are still the calm, content baby that you were the first moment I held you.

Love Mommy

  2. I use a Pentax DSLR...it's an older model, but I love it. I have a long ways to go before I figure out all its bells and whistles, but I'm learning :-)
